On 6.5 hectare, company Herbst is recycling waste from regional construction companies as well as from their own demolition projects.
Expansion of the D&R division at Herbst in Austria
Since 1991, the Herbst Entsorgungsgesellschaft m.b.H. in Eastern Styria is known for the proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. For 10 years and with about 30 employees, the company has been operating successfully in the field of waste material processing and recycling. Initially covered by contract crushers and a used crushing plant, the recycling sector has developed so well that the purchase of a high-performance, mobile plant was necessary. Rockster demonstrated the workings of the newly developed R1000S impact crusher, which convinced Managing Director Josef Herbst that this high performance crusher and its final grain quality are exactly what his company needs.

A Crusher with Numerous Technological Refinements

Reinhard Martinelli, Rockster Salesperson responsible for Austria, emphasizes: "With its diverse adjustment options, the R1000S ensures a precisely definable grading curve and easily definable final grain. Among the technical highlights of the R1000S are: the continuously variable, fully hydraulic crushing gap adjustment with integrated measuring system, the new blow bar fixation and the automatic, load-dependent as well as infinitely variable conveying speed. The hydraulically height-adjustable magnetic separator, the hydraulically lowerable screen box and the swiveling platform make it considerably easier to operate and maintain the machine. "Additionally, for an optimal end grain, this compact crusher can be optimally adjusted during operation through various crusher speeds and its two hydraulically adjustable swing beams. Depending on the application, the material of the blow bars is selected individually and they can be used on both sides. The exchange of the blow bars is also possible with an integrated blow bar exchange device, where an external lifting device is not necessary. High quality wear materials ensure low wear.

With the Rockster RVB1700 wind sifter, impurities are blown directly into the container equipped with a safety net.

Increased Efficiency in Recycling of Demolition Debris

Company Herbst would like to particularly focus on the integrated wind sifter, which removes lightweight materials such as styrofoam, plastic, textiles, plaster, foil or wood through a variably adjustable fan. In addition, the screening system, which consists of the compact circular vibrating screen RS100 in combination with the return conveyor RB92, offers the perfect solution for production of 100% defined final grain. With all of its previously mentioned parts, the R1000S weighs about 35 t. "The wind sifter is a totally worthwhile investment, because I save the manpower that would be needed to do this dusty sorting job. Another advantage from my point of view: When processing asphalt, we used to produce high quality grader material using our own drum screen. Now I can create a fine grain size 0-15 mm directly with the R1000S. Also, we only need the excavator operator for the job because he can operate the crusher via remote control, " emphasizes company boss Josef Herbst.
