„Highly flexible Crusher“

Regardless, if it is for recycling asphalt, concrete or processing of construction waste, the CEO of BSV Lungau Christoph Fötschl, along and his team, can rely on R800, Rockster's most compact jaw crusher. The crusher is equipped with an extensive standard and optional equipment such as screen box and return belt, magnetic separator, and an air blower. This enables for production of an optimal end material, which was a decisive factor for the purchase of this highly flexible and compact crusher.
New home for the Rockster R800 track-mounted mobile jaw crusher is now in Lungau in Unternberg. Company BSV - Lungauer Bauschuttverwertung GmbH invested in the compact all-rounder as a main crusher for their recycling center. Whether it is reinforced concrete, asphalt, construction debris or natural stone, the R800 is equipped for any challenge. The compact circular vibrating screen RS83 and the return belt RB75 ensure 100% defined end material. The top-quality of the end-material is essential for BSV. Thanks to the magnetic separator, it is ensured that all iron is removed from the crushed aggregate and the integrated Rockster Air Blower removes light non-aggregates such as plastic, wood, aluminum, polystyrene, cardboard or paper.

Rockster: Mr. Fötschl, could you please introduce your company to us and in which areas are you mainly active?

Ing. Christoph Fötschl: We are the only construction waste landfill in the republic of Salzburg. It was founded in Lungau in 1992 by my father Johann Fötschl together with a group of master builders. A few years ago, I took over the management and continued our company business with the primary focus on processing and disposal of construction waste. For 30 years we have been recycling all types of construction waste such as concrete, asphalt or brick, which are then, as aggregates, returned into the construction industry cycle. They are mostly reused as a frost-resistant mix, grad material and for various construction fills. We also process construction waste on-site and in addition to demolition, excavation, and transport, basically cover everything in the construction industry. All the construction waste on the construction site is pre-sorted into main components and then transported to our recycling center in Lungauer. It is further sorted again and crushed/recycled accordingly with the Rockster R800 jaw crusher.

Rockster: How long have you been working with mobile crushers?

Ing. Christoph Fötschl: For about 15 years now. At the very beginning in the 90’s we had a stationary impact crusher that is no longer state of the art and in the last 15 years we have been working with contract crushers. In recent years we, as BSV GmbH, have reached an important decision to purchase our own crushing plant in order to increase our flexibility and profitability. The R800 is now our main crusher.

Rockster: What were the main arguments for the purchase of R800 and what materials do you crush with it?

Ing. Christoph Fötschl: Actually, the entire package. Starting with the Air Blower, the simple operation, the screening system... we have a crusher for everything we need. Above all, the low proportion of fines in the jaw crushing method convinced us that this is the right one for us. The performance is slightly on the lower side in comparison to the impact crusher, but the excellent quality of the material is the most important thing for us. The Air Blower is of course a great advantage because many non-aggregates such as plastic parts, pieces of wood or textiles are easily removed. Styrofoam is a material that will be used even more in the construction industry in the future and with our Air Blower we are very well prepared to tackle this material. These light blowen away non-aggregates are than collected directly in a container - surrounded by a net - and can then be disposed of. Crushing, screening, removing iron and kind of cleaning the end-product from light non-aggregates in one operation.
Rockster Air Blower removes light non-aggregates such as plastics, textiles, cardboard, paper, wooden parts, styrofoam or Ytong.

At the moment, we are processing a lot of reinforced concrete and demolition debris. The feed size is approximately <500mm. Larger parts are crushed with the hydraulic hammer and prepared for the crusher. First, the 0/35mm is sorted out by the pre-screening deck in the feed hopper before it enters into the jaw. The bypass enables the pre-screened material to be easily stacked via side discharge belt. In our case, this is mainly mortar or rocks from humus layers. The rest is crushed and thanks to the screening system with an Air Blower we get a high-quality end material. In the future we will also process natural stone. We have our own gravel pit where the production of crushed stone, gravel and chippings will take place. This is easy to achieve with our all-arounder R800 jaw crusher.
